 Installation Tips

These lap belts and shoulder harnesses meet or exceed the revised SFI 16-1 Military Specifi-
cations. Useful life of the webbing should not exceed two years and is recommended that they be replaced at or before that time.

If involved in an accident or the webbing shows wear or abuse, return to the manufacturer for inspection or replacement. All hardware on lap belt, harness and anti-submarine belts are not to be welded on, bent or straightened as this will cause fracture.

All mounting brackets must be installed at an angle that is compatible with the direction of the pull on the webbing under full load.

Mounting brackets must be attached directly to the frame or chassis. Do not mount to sheet metal or floor boards.

Seat belts should be anchored apart, the width of the driver.

Seat belts should be anchored at a 45 degree angle to the floor. See drawing.

Anti-submarine belts should be anchored behind the chest line.

Always use grade 8 bolts, nuts and washers for driver restraint installations.

All hardware used to manufacture these driver restraints are manufactured in sheet alloy steel and drop forged alloy steel.
NOTE:
Hardware on the ends of the lap belt that attaches your belt assembly to the floor area must be mounted in a vertical position. Shoulder harnesses and lap belts must be mounted vertically.
